Founded and managed under the expert guidance of Dr. Asiwome Kwesi Seneadza, a distinguished Ghanaian consultant ophthalmologist with extensive training and experience, our hospital embodies a commitment to exceptional ophthalmic care.
At Accra Eye, we start with sight, but we don’t stop there.
Accra Eye Foundation is the charitable arm of Accra Specialist Eye Hospital, built on a foundation of clinical excellence and a commitment to accessible healthcare. Leveraging the hospital’s advanced expertise, the foundation extends life-changing eye care services to individuals who lack the financial means to access treatment.
With a strong focus on community impact, the foundation bridges the gap between world-class ophthalmic care and underserved populations across Ghana.
Where we work
Accra Eye Foundation has a presence in more than 6 countries, focusing on Africa.
We work closely with communities and recruit local volunteers to help us carry out our work. We also partner with regional, national and international organisations, governments and non-governmental organisations.
What we do
Protecting sight
We prevent sight loss and avoidable blindness in some of the poorest parts of the world by treating conditions such as cataracts and refractive error.
Fighting disease
We help to treat and prevent five debilitating diseases that affect more than a billion people. These are known as neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).
Disability and inclusion
We promote equal opportunities and we campaign for inclusion so everyone has the chance to go to school, get a job, access health care and take part fully in society.
